What to expect at a color correction consultation
If your color didn't turn out the way you hoped (too dark, too brassy, patchy, or a box dye that went sideways), here's how color correction starts at York & Co. Most corrections start with a free consultation, where we look at your hair, agree on the end goal, and give you the plan and the price before any color is mixed. If you already know your stylist and your plan, you can book a correction appointment directly.
Why does color correction start with a consultation?
Every correction is different. What's possible depends on what's already on your hair, how many times it's been colored, and its condition. A consultation lets us see all of that before we promise anything, so you know the plan and the price up front.
What should I bring?
Bring photos of the color you want, and of any shade you don't want. Tell us what's been on your hair, especially box dye, henna or anything applied at home, and roughly when and how often you last colored. Be honest about the history: it changes the plan, and there's no judgment here.
What happens during the consultation?
We look at your hair in good light, check its condition, and talk through where you want to end up. Then we tell you what's realistic, how many visits it should take, and what each visit costs. If one visit won't get you there safely, we'll say so.
How long does a color correction take?
A correction appointment runs about 120 min, and bigger changes can take longer or be split across visits. You'll know at the consultation, so you can plan your day.
How much does color correction cost?
A color correction appointment is from $200, as listed on GlossGenius, October 2026. Because every correction is different, the final price depends on your hair's history and how far it is from the result you want. The consultation is free, and it is where you get your exact price before any color is mixed. If the plan runs over more than one visit, we tell you what each visit costs up front.
Can every color be fixed?
Most color can be improved, and often fully corrected, but some changes take more than one visit to do safely. We'd rather take two appointments than damage your hair chasing a result in one.
How do I book?
Consultations are free and short. Book online, or call or text (912) 236‑7577.
